WILLIAM LAWRENCE SAGEAge 79, loving husband and father, died in his home, among family, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann (nee Carey); brother, James and his wife, Betty of North Versailles; Rose Marie McShane and husband, James of Pittsburgh; and Lillian Naccarati and husband, Ray of Penn Hills, all in Pennsylvania; he was loving father of David Sage of Duquesne, PA, Suzanne Johnston and husband, Dan of Enfield, ME; Lawrence and wife, Melissa Sage of Cincinnati, OH; Nancy Sage of Oxford, PA, Jeffrey and wife, Marcia Sage of Charleston, SC and Carolyn and husband, John Wilson of Williamsburg, VA. Bill was a very loving grandfather to 20 wonderful grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He grew up in Trafford and served in the Army during the Korean War, went to night school while working for US Steel and graduated from Carnegie Tech in 1963 as an Industrial Engineer. He worked for US Steel as a sales man for over 30 years, then Johnstown Corporation and finishing with Brockhausen and Holze in his 70s. His international travel enabled him to offer US goods to a global market. He enjoyed demonstrating to the world that the U.S. still made the best products! He was a devoted family man of strong Catholic faith and a commitment to community service. He will be dearly missed. Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the THOMAS L NIED FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7441 Washington St., Swissvale.
