JOHN D. SWEENEY On Monday, December 17, 2012, of the North Side. Beloved husband of Jeanne (Duncan) Ronschke Sweeney; father of the late Dirk; loving uncle of Bonnie, Cheryl, Denise, Carol, Maureen, Matthew, Colleen, Tristan, Sean, Ian, Mitchell, Emily, Linda, and Steve; brother of the late Gerald; John is also survived by his puppy, "Peanuts". Mr. Sweeney retired as the Traffic Superintendent with Allegheny County with 20 years of service. John "Jay" was the assistant coach of the Morningside Bulldogs Football team under Joe Natoli. Friends received 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7441 Washington St., Swissvale. A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. www.niedfuneralhome.com
