Obituary of John E. Keane

JOHN E. KEANEOn January 11, 2011, John E. Keane, 95, of Swissvale, passed away as gracefully as he lived his life, surrounded by the love of his family. Devoted husband of more than 67 years to Janet M. (Mackall) Keane; loving father and guiding light of Martin Keane (Donna Doyle Keane) of Norfolk, MA; Maureen Keane (Joseph Grochowski) of Swisshelm Park, PA and Michelle Keane Domeisen (Frank Domeisen) of O'Hara Township, PA. Beloved Grandfather of Charles M. Keane of Chicago, Kathryn Keane Wych (Steven Wych) of Boston, Meredith Keane of Norfolk, MA and dearest 'Poppy' of Natalie Keane Domeisen of O'Hara Township, PA. John was a golf enthusiast, avid reader, and crossword puzzle and history buff. He retired from WABCO, Swissvale, after more than 30 years of service. He was a distinguished Army Staff Sergeant from World War II, and a member of the American Legion, VFW, AARP, and past president of the A.O.H., Swissvale. He wore his Irish heritage with pride and honor, instilling that love, sentiment and sense of humor in his family. He enjoyed the love and respect of his friends, and that of his children's friends, because his kindness endeared him to all. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at St. Anselm Church, Word of God Parish, Swissvale, PA, where he was a parishioner for more than 50 years.
