FLORENCE "FLOSSIE" BYRNES Peacefully on January 24, 2012, of Swissvale. Beloved wife of the late Aloysius "Wishy" Byrnes; loving mother of Maureen and her husband, Ross Cioppa of Braddock Hills, Patricia Byrnes of Swissvale, and Sharon and her husband, David Price of Forest Hills; grandmother of Kristin and her husband, Gary Daniels, Kevin and his wife, Nicki Cioppa, Caitlin and Patrick Price; great-grandmother of Faith and Reid Daniels; special "Mom" to Mary Janet "Tootie" Stetter and Rege Hoolihan. Florence was born June 12, 1914, to the late Francis and Hester (Stumpf) McGowan; sister of the late Ruth and her husband, Morris Lebowitz, Martha and her husband, James Gunning, John and his wife, Irene McGowan and Bernard and his wife, Olive McGowan. Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great- great-nephews and many cousins. Florence was an employee of Foodland for 23 years and a lifelong member of the Word of God Parish in Swissvale. She enjoyed spending time with family and extended family members. She will be sadly missed by all. The family wants to thank the LGAR for making her last months of life very comfortable. Friends welcomed at THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, 7441 Washington St., Swissvale, on Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anselm Roman Catholic Church, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Interment in the All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
