Carol Barbarino (known to her grandchildren as Nonna) September 8, 1940, to February 28, 2023. She was an avid supporter of the Pittsburgh Cultural community and believed in the value of lifelong education. She appreciated attending lectures of various kinds to keep mentally sharp. Additionally, she was a firm believer in the beauty and value of nature and its ability to bring calmness to one’s spirit and mind. She loved taking walks in downtown Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. She also enjoyed a good football game, or hockey and was a fan of all Pittsburgh teams. She will be remembered for her keen curiosity, abilities as a conversationalist, and her laughter. She is survived by her children: Andrea (Brian) Mahoney, Tracey (Matthew) Beaty, Anthony Barbarino, and Donald (Angela ) Barbarino. Sister: Marilyn Patterson, Sister-in-law: Audrey Franzetta, grandchildren: Hannah Barbarino, Madeline Beaty, Garrett Barbarino, and Holden Barbarino. Nephew: Joe Franzetta, Nieces: Amy Seketa, Karrie Kay and Carly Schontz. Memorial Service will be held on April 1, 2023, from 2-6pm at Thomas L. Nied Funeral Home 7441 Washington Avenue, Swissvale Pa, 15218.
