Obituary of Ernst J. Nagel

Ernst (Ernie) Julius Nagel Jr., 91, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on February 5th, 2023, in Pittsburgh PA.

 

Ernie was born in Pittsburgh to Anna and Ernst Sr. on May 4th, 1931. He went to high school at Taylor Allderdice and graduated in 1949. He worked for Clark Candy and then joined the US Navy where he served in Korea. He met his wife Julie in 1957 and married in 1958. Ernie worked in his father's painting business for a short time then worked for Beechnut Gum and Lifesavers Candy. He spent the remaining years as a cigar peddler until retiring at age 80.

 

Ernie is survived by his wife, Juliann of Ford City, PA, Daughters Jeannine Nagel (Matt O'Reilly), Maria Boyd (Chris), and Lorena Fabian (Dave). Grandchildren Kyle Boyd, Nicholas Boyd (Madeleine), Jacob Fabian, Colin Boyd, and Julia Fabian. Siblings Eugene Nagel and Kathleen McGarvey. And nieces and nephews.
