Obituary of Judith A. Hanchey

Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Judy Hanchey, 75, passed away on Monday, January 9 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Judy was born in Wilkinsburg on October 9, 1947, a daughter of Carmen and Margaret Iafrat DeLucia.

Judy's greatest joy was her family. She was a homemaker and mother, raising three children and spending time with her four grandchildren. She loved volunteering and devoted much of her life to helping others. Judy also loved traveling, especially vacations with family, and collecting antique clocks.

Judy is survived by her son, Lance (Katie) Hanchey, her two daughters, Heather (Pete) Maund, and Heidi Chruscicki (Craig Smith), three grandchildren Carlin (Scott) Sudzina, Hunter Chruscicki, and Carson Chruscicki (Remzi Satiroglu), her former husband, Bill Hanchey, two sisters, Janice Hall and Geraldine DeLucia, and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Judy was predeceased by her parents, Carmen and Margaret DeLucia, a grandson who was a shining light in her life, Maclean Maund, and her best friend since kindergarten, Janet Docherty.

Judy's arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Nied Funeral Home. Following Judy's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 4, 10:00am at Word of God (St. Anselm's) Church in Swissvale, PA.

In lieu of flowers or food, donations may be made in Judy's name to Alzheimer's Research or Bridges Hospice of Monroeville. www.niedfuneralhome.com
