Raymond (Dean) McKelvey

Passed away on December 28th, 2022, after a brief illness, age 101, of Drums, PA, formerly of Edgewood. He was the son of the late Audley and Ethel McKelvey; beloved husband of 71 years of the late Rosemary McKelvey; loving father of Linda and the late Barry Kraynack of Drums. Raymond and Marion McKelvey of Forest Hills, and Glenn and Holly McKelvey of Swissvale; cherished grandfather of Jennifer Kraynack, Bryan (Bethany) Kraynack, Jeremy (Michelle) Kraynack, Michelle (David) Faux, Mark (Karen) McKelvey. Stephen (Heather) McKelvey, Sean (Rachel) McKelvey, and Stephen (Terri) Kazousky; great-grandfather of Avery and Emerson Kraynack, Greyson and Silas Faux, Rylee and Cassidy McKelvey, and Carter and Benjamin McKelvey. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Stevanus. Dean was a WWII Army veteran and retired from the Union Switch and Signal after 45 years of service. He was a long-time member of the Swissvale Baptist Church and deeply loved the Lord. He was an avid gardener, carpenter, and stained glass craftsman. Family and friends will be received Monday, January 2 from 6-8 pm at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME INC., 7441 Washington St., Swissvale. Funeral service to be held Tuesday, January 3 at 11am at the Swissvale Baptist Church, 7419 Schoyer Ave., Swissvale.
