Obituary of Janet Deneselya

Janet Anastasia Deneselya, 77, died peacefully in her sleep at The Grove in Harmony, Harmony, PA on November 7, 2022 after a long battle with Cancer. She was born in Braddock, PA, the eighth of nine children born to Peter and Mary (Zerishnek) Deneselya of Braddock, PA on March 10, 1945. A 1962 graduate of Rankin High School, Janet received her RN diploma from Braddock General Hospital School of Nursing, later completing both a Master's degree and Ph.D. in Nursing Administration through the University of Pittsburgh. She served as a nurse in local hospitals prior to serving as Associate Chief, Nursing Service for Research at the VA Medical Center, Butler, PA for many years, developing and coordinating a research program in nursing. She authored one article on quality assurance and another on an education conference summary, both of which were published in the Spinal Cord Nursing Journal. In addition, Janet co-authored a book on the training of nurses which was published. After retiring, Janet served as caretaker of her older sister, Mary Elizabeth, who died recently. Janet was predeceased by her parents, sisters; Anna, Martha, Helen, Pauline and brother Peter. She is survived and sadly missed by her brother Robert of Uniontown, Ohio and brother Donald of Maryland, as well as several nieces and nephews. Final arrangements were made through the Thomas L.
