Obituary of Shirley Patricia Onderick

Shirley Patricia "Pat" McGowan Onderick of Murrysville passed away on September 8, 2022 at 89 years of age. She is survived by her devoted and adoring husband of 67 years, William "Bill" Onderick and her five children, all who claimed to be her favorite--Kathy (Cole) Mazur of Pittsburgh, Bill (Marie) Onderick of Orlando, Roseanne (Mark) Malinoski of Murrysville, Joey (Mindi) Onderick of Orlando, Julie (John) Molyneaux of New Alexandria; and her eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren who are on the way. She also is survived by her brother Jack (Nancy) McGowan and preceded in death by her siblings Beatrice (Bill) Yinger, LaVonne (Ken) Pufpaff, Jimmy (Pat) McGowan, Joe (Bernie) McGowan, and Mary Lou McGowan; and her parents Emma McCloskey McGowan and Jim McGowan.

Her family will miss hearing some of her favorite expressions based on her apparent love of animals such as "you horse's foot!" and "you bird!" Pat enjoyed social times (of course, with wine!) with her neighbors, friends, and family. Her upbeat personality will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 11, at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7441 Washington Street, Swissvale. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 12, at Word of God Church with Father Peter Horton officiating.
