Obituary of Charles R. Prill

Charles Prill

Age 98, passed away peacefully, on August 16, 2022.  He was born August 8^th, 1924 as the youngest sibling of 7. Charles grew up in East Liberty and later lived in Swisshelm Park and Murrysville.  He met his wife Florence (Battistella) while working for 38 years at the Union Switch & Signal.  They enjoyed a loved-filled marriage for 49 years.  Charles was preceded in death by his wife Florence Prill.  Loving father to Charles (LuAnn) Prill of Murrysville and Florence Jozwiak (Louis Labriola) of Pittsburgh; wonderful Pap to Michael Prill (Lori Fantazzi), Dana Prill, Jessica (Stephen) Wegner, Rachael (Peter) Heisey, and Raymond Jozwiak; adored great-grandfather to Gracie Wegner and Alexandra Heisey.  

Charles was a hard worker and when he retired from the “Switch”, he went straight back to work as a grandfather; or, as everyone called him, “Pap”.  He cared for his five grandkids who adored him.  He also lovingly cared for his wife as she battled cancer until her passing in 1998.  His favorite pastimes were doing puzzles, spending time with his family, keeping busy around the house, and playing with the dogs.  He was lighthearted and kind, quick to laugh and liked to joke.  He would do anything to help family and friends and he never complained, even in the end.  He leaves behind a lifetime of happy memories that his family will cherish forever.  Friends received Friday, August 26, 2022 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the THOMAS L.
