Kathleen Weisbrod of Swissvale on Friday, June 10, 2022. Daughter of the late Regis and Mary Harkins, loving sister to the late Marian J. Harkins. She is survived by brother Regis J. Harkins, Jr. and his wife Eva of Virginia, and as well as son Mark J. Weisbrod and his wife Leslie, and daughter Emily Headley and her husband Bret. She lives on in the hearts of four beloved grandchildren: Jack and Lily Weisbrod and Ben and Alex Headley. After graduating from St. Anselm High School, Kathleen earned her bachelor's degree from Lockhaven University and began a lifelong career as an educator. She would later earn her master's degree in Special Education from Virginia Tech and served children with disabilities as teacher and administrator in Virginia. After returning home to Pittsburgh, she led educational programs at Southwood Hospital's Residential Treatment Program until retirement. Kathleen selflessly and passionately supported her children and grandchildren throughout her life. She was the consummate soccer mom and grandmom as well as an avid gardener, crossword puzzler, and lover of nature and the arts. She treasured time with her cousins, neighbors, family, and friends. Friends received 5-7 P.M. Friday only at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME INC. 7441 Washington Street, Swissvale. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions in Kathleen's memory to the American Heart Association.
