MARILYN PRENTICE

 

Age 73, passed away March 5, 2022. She was born in New Haven, Connecticut, the daughter of George and Shirley Prentice. Marilyn graduated from Swissvale High School, then Lock Haven State College with a B.S. degree in Education. Her teaching career began at the Swissvale School District, which later became part of the Woodland Hills School District. She retired after 37 years of teaching. Kindergarten was her passion. Her caring and dedication to her students were her life. She worked to improve programs and opportunities for her students who have fondly remembered her over the years. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George Prentice, Jr. Marilyn will be missed by her close friends, and her treasured cousin, Priscilla Stoelzel of Connecticut. Much thanks and appreciation is given to the staff and residents of New Haven Court in Butler, PA, for their care and friendship with Marilyn over the past few years. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022, 4-6 p.m. at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, 7441 Washington Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15218, immediately followed by a blessing service. Marilyn will be laid to rest alongside her family at the Alderbrook Cemetery in Guilford, Connecticut.
