Obituary of Patricia Mazzella

Patricia Lynne (Hughes) Mazzella, 81 formerly of Swissvale passed away peacefully February 16, 2022 in her home with her family by her side.  Patricia was born January 5, 1941 to the late Edward and Eleanor Hughes of Swissvale, sister to the late Edward Hughes. She graduated from Swissvale High School in 1958. She married the love of her life, Guyton Anthony Mazzella in 62 years of marriage, (July 25,1959). Together they had three children, Kenneth Mazzella ( Michele), Dina DeCesare ( Theodore), and Kristin Vennos (Kevin Marone), plus 9 Grandchildren, Jenna, Maura, Patrick, Marisa, Ginalynne, Nickolas, Kayla, Victoria and Bianca, as well as a great-grandchild on the way.  Patricia dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful Mother/Grandmother. She excelled at motherhood and was the foundation of our family, through and through. She loved attending her grandchildren's countless sporting events and activities and rooting for her Steeler's!  Her specialty was creating special desserts, especially Biscottis and annual Easter Bread.  She worked for Mellon Bank. She was active member of Madonna Del Costello Church, where she volunteered her time as both a lector and for the annual church fair where she would spend her time preparing fried dough while making sure the parishioners had enough to eat!  The family extends a sincere thank you to Patricia's care givers especially, Patty, Sue and all her Nurses.  Friends received Friday only from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Thomas L.
