Obituary of Patricia B Grimes

On Monday, January 31, 2022, at the age of 87, Patricia B. Grimes, of Swissvale, beloved mother of Sharon, Sheila, and Rick; daughter of John F. and Mildred M. Bligh; amazing grandma Boo Boo to Ben and Sam Grimes. Her grandsons were two shining bright lights in her life. She loved them with all her heart for 13 years. Pat loved the Lord and was a mighty prayer warrior. In 1973, she founded Alternatives to Abortion (later known as Genesis of Pittsburgh), an organization that helps women understand their options beyond abortion. One of her proudest accomplishments was working at Carnegie Mellon so Rick could attend school there. Mom’s favorite saying was: “It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.” and she embodied that every day of her life. She is already so intensely missed but she’s now with Jesus smiling down at us.
