Obituary of Donna McCready

Donna Carol (Locke) McCready, age 78, of Irwin, formerly of Swissvale. Born September 10, 1943 and passed peacefully of January 8, 2022. Loving mother of Deborah McCready Hazuza of Swissvale, Matthew C. McCready of Apollo and his lifetime partner Debora Lightner of Irwin, and Daniel A. McCready of Irwin; loving grandmother of Cherlyn Van Der Weele of White Oak, Norelle Van Der Weele of Irwin, Gretchen Baughman (Matt) of Penn Trafford, and Ryan McCready of Apollo; great grandmother of Elise, Landon, Lexington, and Liam; sister of Shirley Locke Henson of Washington, PA and the late Donald Henry Locke, James R. Locke and Beverly Locke Shamlin. Donna is preceded in death by her loving parents Homer and Amelia Locke. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Donna was employed at the University of Pittsburgh at the Cathedral of Learning for the Dean. After she retired, she worked at the Conley Inn in Irwin. At the age of 50, she received her GED and attended the University of Pittsburgh, where she received an associates degree in Medical Billing and was on the Dean's List. One of mom's favorite things was going to the casino. I will miss that time we shared. Matt will miss talking every night and your shopping and driving adventures with him and Debora. Dan will miss seeing her everyday. Our hearts are forever broken from our mom leaving this earth. A single mom who didn't have much but made sure we had everything we needed. She was a very caring, loving person. Her parents were very important to her as well. She had a way of making faces and sounds that would just make us laugh so hard! But she sure did know how to make us know she meant business. She loved Debbie's cats and loved Matt's dog. Her grandchildren made her so happy, and her great grandchildren as well. But most of all we all loved her so very much! We will always have memories of her in our hearts. Already missed and will always be missed.

Mom you are pretty and always will be. I know you are healthy up in Heaven. As I said while you were passing, I told you ' A blink of an eye and we will be with you again."
