Obituary of Pamela Rocco (Duranti) Miele

Please share a memory of Pamela to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Pamela Rocco Duranti Miele died peacefully on April 13, 2021, surrounded by her family, at the age of 57, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Pamela, a resident of O'Hara, was born in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Rocco and Anastasia Duranti. A devout Catholic, she drew strength from her faith and was a member of St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish in Blawnox. Pamela grew up in Edgewood, where she worked at her family's restaurant, Duranti's, alongside her family, played basketball in high school and attended the University of Pittsburgh. As the youngest of eight, her family joked about needing a restaurant to feed all of their children. In 1984, she met her loving husband Michael, who she married in 1985. Deeply committed to one another, the fun-loving couple acted like newlyweds, even after decades of marriage. Pamela is predeceased by Michael, who passed away in 2019. Pamela is survived by four children that she and Michael were immensely proud of: Jeremiah (Elena Sciulli), Sarah Miele Brown (Billy), Adrianna Miele McCullough (Chuck), and Lisa Miele Kennedy (Ryan). They have three grandchildren: Brayden and Daniela (Adrianna) and Jonathan (Jeremiah), who brought endless joy to her life, along with a fourth due this spring. Additionally, Pamela and Michael were surrounded by their beloved dogs Crosby and Toby, and grand-dogs Keena, Piper, and Watson. Pamela was also blessed with a large and loving extended family including siblings Sophea (Philip), Christopher (Mary), Lynnie (Bill), George (Suzanne), Maria (Mark), Theodora (Sherry), along with over 50 nieces and nephews, as well as Michael's siblings JoAnne, Sue (Thomas), Anthony (Paulette), Mark (Beverly), Kevin (Dianne) and Tammy (Mark). She was preceded in death by her brother Frank (Julie). Pamela lived her daily life with a crystal clear commitment to what mattered most -faith, family, and friends. Known as the balloon lady, she took a love of hospitality and used it to create her own catering and party planning business, now known as Spoons and Balloons, run by her daughter Adrianna. Through the years, she taught cooking classes at Fairview and preschool at Fox Hill. Unequivocally, Pamela devoted her life to her husband and children. She was the ever present home room mom and concession stand leader, cheering and working at her kids sports and activities, volunteering at community events and serving as PTO president. Her homemade Halloween costumes and balloon creations were an expression of her resourceful nature and love of friends and family. Always on the go, Pamela was in constant contact with those she loved. Throughout their lives, her kids were able to respect and enjoy her, not only as a mother, but as a true friend. A private celebration of Pam's life will be held for her family. Separately, everyone is invited to a mass of Christian burial at St. Paul's Cathedral in Oakland at 10am on Saturday, April 17th. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pamela's life can be made to https://gofund.me/6f7c870c. Keeping with Pamela's spirit and zest for life, the family asks those who loved her to consider making a small act of kindness in honor of Pamela, particularly those who cannot join the celebration in person.
