Aunt Dani to me was more than just Aunt, she was the Grandmother I never had. She was such an important person in my upbringing. I remember when she filled in for my “being my grandmother to school day” when both of my grandparents had passed and she filled their void in so many ways. She was someone who was always there to support me.
The thing I remember most about her was just her love of life. I remember laughing with her while driving through puddles in Oakland, listening to The Beach Boys in her car, going on countless “walk and talks” as a kid through our neighborhood.
She was such an influential part of my life and helped shape me to be the person I am today. So glad to call her family and my Aunt. Miss you & Love you Aunt Dani.

My childhood is filled with tons of memories of Aunt Dani. She was a huge influence on me and helped me to develop into the person I am today. One of the qualities I remember most about her is her sense of humor. It's not often that a kid and an adult share a belly laugh that makes your sides hurt but Aunt Dani could make it happen. One memory that comes to mind immediately, when we were on a trip, she took me to a gift shop and bought me a woopie cushion (I didn't know what it was, I just thought it looked cool). we walked to the boardwalk, I leaned against the railing and set the woopie cushion off next to an unsuspecting bystander who shot us a look and walked away. Aunt Dani and I looked at each other and burst out laughing. It was maybe a 15 minute walk back to the hotel and we kept inflating it and squishing it all the way back, laughing so hard we were crying and couldn't stand up straight. Highlight of my young life. It's an amazing feeling as a child having someone you look up to make you feel okay for laughing at silly things.
She was so gifted at making me feel like an equal. She helped foster a curiosity in life, the value of imagination and the importance of treating others how you want to be treated. At any family event, as life goes on, there was always one constant, that I would be greeted with Aunt Dani's warm smile and a story of one of her favorite memories of our time together. There will be a huge void with that constant gone. I will miss her very much, but it feels good to have so many memories to visit her forever.
Love you Aunt Dani

To Kim, Brian and Les
The last time Carol and I talked to Danielle, your mother, we talked of spiritual subjects and Jesus. And, about getting ready to die, as the three of us turned 76 yrs +. She proudly stated to us that she was ready to die, and she called herself an "overcomer".
1 John 4: 4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world".
We believe Danielle was at peace with God, "she fought the good fight", and she died a peaceful death. She will be missed!
Love in Christ, Carl and Carol Benson
P S: 1 John 4: 7 "Beloved, let us love one another for love is from God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and known to God".

Danielle was more than a sister, she was my friend. She really came into my life when she was starting her new journey as a single women trying to take care of her 3 children and get and education at the same time. I, at the time was newly married and starting my own family. I believe we helped each other a lot, she needed a few extra bucks and I needed someone to replace our mother (who had passed,) to my 3 sons and she stepped in and did a beautiful job. Words can't express how much I'll miss her sense of humor, her intelligence and loving ways.

My Mother was a fighter! She fought through physical ailments from birth. She fought to be sober and reclaim her life. She fought for her children. She never left us to fend for ourselves. She always was there to bring us to the next level in life. There was nothing I could not share with her. Her death has left an unfillable void of a mother and friend. I cant comprehend not calling her when the next event happens. I never told her enough how proud I was of her handling all the challenges in life. She was at peace with her God and her life. I see her has having lived a surrendered life in her day to day. So when the Lord said the time has come she was already there! I love you Mummy with my whole heart.
