Obituary of Janet Gustafson

Janet (Penick) Gustafson Age 96, formerly of Swissvale. Daughter of the late Orland and Byrdia Penick. Wife of the late Frank D. Gustafson. Sister of Dr. James O. Penick. Beloved aunt of Janice Penick (Marvin Gold), and JoAnn Penick (Shimon Lobelsohn). Great-aunt of Max James Gold. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Janet grew up and spent most of her life in Swissvale, PA. She graduated from West Liberty State College in 1945. She was a dental hygienist for over 30 years, working for Dr. Stark in Braddock, PA. She and Frank who worked for United Airlines traveled the world visiting many countries. Janet was very social, and organized a card club that lasted for 50 years, and a bowling league that lasted for 40 years. Janet worked tirelessly for the Swissvale Methodist Church. After retiring she became a volunteer at Braddock Hospital for many years. She spent the last 10 years at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople. She will be sorely missed.
