Obituary of Dean K. McHolme

Dean McHolme Life of the party, milkshake loving, ultimate outdoorsman, salesman extraordinaire and self-taught piano man, Dean McHolme passed away September 27, 2021. Dean was quite the foodie and considered milkshakes a basic food group. He especially liked egg-nog flavored, sprinkled with nutmeg on top. His grilled lemon-pepper chicken wings were legend, and he adored his mom's homemade chicken pot pie, smothered in gravy. No one enjoyed the outdoors as much as Dean. Hunting and fishing were in his blood and his travels took him near and far. He was a master grouse hunter, taking aim behind many of his great English Setters. Although it was his beloved miniature Schnauzer, Chewy, that kept order on the home-front. He took pride in his North American sheep trophies and could bend a fly rod with the best of them. Dean was the charismatic sales force at McHolme Builders, Inc., in Elizabeth for over 30 years. He loved to mix business with pleasure and in most cases, his pleasure was golf. His unique way of closing a deal...take the client to Pine Valley! Music stirred Dean's soul and was one of his greatest passions. His piano skills were undeniable and set the tone at many family gatherings. "Great Balls of Fire", "Levon" and anything by the Beatles were staples in his repertoire. Dean took fashion advice from no one, strictly old school and his signature everyday look was a pair of jeans and a faded graphic t-shirt, under a chamois shirt. Dean was a lover of life, and enjoyed being around people. If you knew him, you were his friend for life. He loved to tell a story, was kind and extremely generous with a heart as big as the great outdoors. Born September 11, 1957, to Jim (deceased) and Donna McHolme, Dean is survived by his wife, Joanne and their children, Collin, Kelly, Casey and Angus.
